The Fifth Health Exhibition for Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation – Republic of Senegal”

A delegation from the General Investment Authority, headed by the Authority’s President, Mr. Ali Ahmed Garhoum, participated in the 5th Health Expo for Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The event was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Work of the Republic of Senegal and the International Center for Foreign Trade of Senegal (CICES), and took place from April 15 to 19, 2025, in the capital city of Dakar. The Expo featured discussion panels on investment promotion, financing methods, service development, and capacity building in the health sector, covering a wide range of themes and investment opportunities.
The exhibition aimed to enhance trade and investment in health, pharmaceutical products, and medical equipment across OIC countries. It was held concurrently with the 10th edition of the Dakar International Health and Medical Equipment Exhibition under the theme: “Health as a Driver of Economic Development in OIC Countries.” This event provided a significant opportunity for the Investment Authority to begin organizing its relationships with various regional stakeholders, investment bodies, and agencies, as well as to establish broad communication channels with Arab and foreign investors, gain expertise, and explore modern investment trends.
The exhibition served as a platform for connecting different actors in the health sector—including pharmaceutical industries, medical equipment and service providers, nutrition and diet specialists, surgeons, medical equipment experts, healthcare centers, and medical training institutes—across OIC member states. It also offered a valuable opportunity for companies and players in the health and medical equipment sectors, including medical tourism, to promote their products and services and to build new business relationships and partnerships.
The event was held at the International Exhibition Center for Foreign Trade in Dakar (CIED), bringing together over 2,000 participants from 57 countries. It spanned 6,000 square meters and featured a wide array of stakeholders from the healthcare sector, including pharmaceutical industries, healthcare equipment and service providers, nutrition and dietary specialists, surgical experts, medical centers, and medical training institutes across OIC countries.
