The Ministry of Industry and Trade launches a workshop to update the national strategy for small and medium enterprises in Aden
Under the patronage of Mr. Mohammed Mohammed Hazam Al-Ashwal – His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Trade, and with the support and funding of the International Development Association of the World Bank in partnership with the United Nations Development Program and the Small and Micro Enterprises Promotion Agency “SMEPS” of the Social Fund for Development. The workshop to update the national strategy for small, medium and micro enterprises was launched, which comes within the project to enhance social protection in emergency situations and confront the Corona virus.
The workshop aims to update the national strategy to support and develop small, medium and micro enterprises, enhance the local economic environment, enable innovation and sustainability, analyze the current situation of the small and medium enterprises sector, identify gaps and needs to develop policies, as well as enhance integration between the concerned parties to achieve strategic goals and adopt a partnership model between the government, private and civil society sectors to implement the strategy and develop a comprehensive and flexible implementation plan for the strategy.
The event was held on December 7, 2024 in Saba Conference Hall, in the presence of Mr. Mohammed Al-Khazan – Director of the Office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Industry Sector, Mr. Amjad Saif – Director of the Office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Domestic Trade Sector, Mr. Moaz Al-Toumi – Secretary of the Minister of Industry and Trade, and a number of officials and representatives of civil society organizations.
