Honoring Ceremony of the Engineers Syndicate on the Occasion of “Completion of the Training Workshops Program for Building Engineering Capacities”

The Chairman of the General Investment Authority attended the honoring ceremony of the Yemeni Engineers Syndicate – Aden on the occasion of the completion of the “Training Workshops Program for Building Engineering Capacities for the period from May 14 to June 6, 2024”, which was held under the patronage of Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas – His Excellency the Minister of State, Governor of the Capital Aden, and Eng. Salem Mohammed Al-Aboudi Al-Hariri – His Excellency the Minister of Public Works and Roads, and with the support of the Small and Micro Enterprises Development Agency, which was implemented by Dalilak Center for Business Development.

During the event, Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Basri – Head of the Engineers Syndicate explained that the program included four specialized courses that addressed the issuance of the law licensing the practice of engineering professions, introducing participants to the global geological parks, and documenting the Aden Peninsula within these parks, in addition to courses on institutional building, seismic building code, environmental, social and health protection, and occupational safety.

Eng. Katbi Omar Katbi – Advisor to the Governor of the Capital Aden – Member of the Executive Committee, also pointed out the great success achieved by the program, noting that the participation rate of women reached 42.5%, while the percentage of men was 57.5%, in addition to the participation of 67 people from outside Yemen via the Zoom application, and announced that the Syndicate is in the process of implementing a new program to build engineering capacities, including training in disaster, risk and emergency reduction, dealing with climate change, project management and technical supervision in coordination with the Planning and International Cooperation Office. The event concluded with honoring the participants and distributing certificates of appreciation to the lecturers, trainers and everyone who contributed to the success of this distinguished training program.

The event was held on November 7, 2024 in the hall of the late Dr. Ahmed Saleh Mansour – Faculty of Dentistry – University of Aden Khormaksar with the participation of 322 male and female engineers in addition to a number of those interested in geological gardens and media professionals.
