The Ministerial Committee, headed by the Deputy Minister of Industry, issues its technical recommendations for the controls of fish grinding factories
The committee responsible for developing proposals and visions for the activity of fish grinding factories approved its recommendations regarding dealing with fish grinding factories in a manner that takes into account supporting investment and preserving fish stocks, during its meeting in the interim capital, Aden, headed by Mr. Salem Al-Wali – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade – Chairman of the Committee and in the presence of Mr. Ali Atef Al-Sharafi – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry, Mr. Ali Jarhum – Chairman of the General Investment Authority, and representatives of the Ministries of Fisheries, Water and Environment and Fisheries Authorities. The Ministerial Technical Committee approved its recommendations on addressing the file of fish grinding factories and ending the imbalances that accompanied the establishment of these facilities.
The committee stressed the importance of establishing controls and mechanisms that preserve fish wealth and the marine environment and create added value from fish industries, as well as creating an effective partnership with the private sector in a way that develops investments in accordance with the laws and regulations in force and achieves a balance between the needs of the local market and other industries in the fisheries sector in a way that achieves the desired economic return.
