A Program of Engineering Capacity Building courses for members of the Yemeni Engineers Association – Aden

The General Authority for Investment participated in the inauguration ceremony of the “Program of Engineering Capacity Building Courses for Members of the Yemeni Engineers Association – Aden” at work and production sites on May 14, 2024 AD, which was held at the University of Science and Technology with the support and coordination of the Small and Micro Enterprises Development Agency and the implementation of the Guides  Center for Business Development.

The ceremony targeted 150 engineers in a training program lasting (12) days, with the participation of experts from the Arab Republic of Egypt, under the name “Building the engineering capabilities of members of the Yemeni Engineers Syndicate – Aden.” It consists of two parts: the first is to update the database of the union, create a modern electronic database, and prepare an operations room to issue the card. The electronic and website serves the program, and the second part is engineering capacity building courses, which consists of four courses concerned with the importance of issuing a law licensing the practice of engineering professions, another to introduce geoparks and document the Aden Peninsula within the global geoparks and the role of institutional construction, followed by an introductory course to the seismic building code and its uses, and the last one is on protection. Environmental, social, health and occupational safety.

The ceremony was inaugurated by the Minister of Public Works and Roads, Eng. Salem Al-Aboudi Al-Harizi, in the presence of the Deputy Governor of Aden for Youth Affairs, Abdul Raouf Al-Saqqaf, Mr. Ali Garhoum, Chairman of the General  Investment Authority, Eng. Rana Anwar, Director of the Small and Micro Enterprises Development Agency – Aden, and Eng. Omar Kutbi, Advisor Governor Aden.
