Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF)
The General Authority for Investment visited the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), which was held from 9 to 15 November 2023, at the Al-Manara Conference Center “Egypt Exhibition Centre” and organized by the African Export-Import Bank in cooperation with the African Union Commission and the Secretariat of the African Free Trade Area Agreement.
The Arab Republic of Egypt hosted the third edition of this exhibition, which included participants from 45 African countries and 16 countries outside Africa. More than 1,600 companies participated in it from various productive and economic sectors that characterize African countries and enjoy competitive advantages and the ability to export and open new markets.
The exhibition included the fields of agriculture and agro-processing, textiles, the automotive industry, construction and infrastructure, consumer goods, and creative industries. As well as the fields of energy, engineering, finance, information and communications technology, tourism, transportation, startups and small projects.
This exhibition constituted the most important event for exploring investment opportunities available on the continent of Africa and a comprehensive platform for the business, trade and production community at the region level, allowing for facilitating the conclusion of trade deals, increasing investments and projects and stimulating trade, economic and regional integration.The African Bank also aimed to facilitate intra-African trade and investment deals worth $45 billion. During the exhibition, a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed in various fields.
