Nets and Agricultural Equipments Factory

The Nets and Agricultural Equipments Factory, Khormaksar, Aden, an affiliation to the General Corporation for Agricultural Services, was founded in 1975 with (200) employees to fulfill the market demands of agricultural tools. In 1982, the 4-opening net machinery was lunched with a productive capacity of (3) tons in a shift.
At the end of the eighties, a study was conducted to develop the Factory which was ended by introducing new productive lines as follows:

  1. A complete line (pulling- softening- zinc coating) of steel wires. One ton and (5.6-5.5) diameters of rolls which were imported and transferred into diameters required in manufacturing coated, galvanized nets and barbed wires.
  2. A complete unit to manufacture 4-opening gabion net (10*8) cm used in protecting valleys, cannels and roads against floods. It is operated by German machinery with high capacity and efficiency and daily production exceeds (5) tons.

The Factory has 42 full-part-time employees and workers. At peak activity, a number of 20-30 daily wage workers are used. The Factory prepared a study which was introduced to the competent entities to open an integrated productive line in manufacturing gabion baskets 10×12 cm and a machine in manufacturing 4-opening nets and other one in manufacturing barbed wires which certainly will have a positive result in increasing a production capacity and revenues in general and consequently will provide new job opportunities for youth as one of the general objectives to fight unemployment.

In this concern, the Factory provides aids for different needy groups in the society in medical treatment, students’ tuitions, and contributing in improving living standards and fighting poverty.
