Project description
It is known as sand which are in the range of (1-2/6mm). Silica sand is metallic with chemical formula SiO2 and little impurities such as iron oxide and feldspar. Silica sand exists in a many areas.
Main use
It is used to make glass, sand, metal mold casting, filtering drinking water, scrapers, sodium metasilicate, sodium carbide, rubble for construction.
Occurrence
It is found in desserts which are formed by erosion of igneous rocks that contain a high percentage of quartz and sedimentary “sand” rocks. The fragment type is an important source as it contains a high percentage of quartz and it is white with high purity.
