Meeting to discuss joint coordination mechanism between the General Investment Authority and the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority

Mr. Ali Ahmed Jarhoum, Chairman of the General Investment Authority, met in his office with Mr. Ahmed Yamani Al-Tamimi, Chairman of the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority, to discuss investment opportunities available in the mining sector.

The meeting came within the framework of benefiting from the recent field studies and research carried out by the Geological Survey Authority in recent years, with a focus on minerals and rocks that have become globally necessary in the fields of energy, construction and building.

The two parties discussed the importance of continuing coordination between the Investment Authority and the Geological Survey Authority, to ensure that licenses are not granted for future investment projects in Aden Governorate except after conducting a comprehensive geological study to determine the suitability of the sites. They also stressed the need to activate Cabinet Resolution No. (249) of 2012, which stipulates conducting a geological suitability study before any urban or urban expansion, in order to ensure the sustainability of projects and the integrity of urban planning in the governorate.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides stressed the continuation of cooperation and coordination for its positive impact in improving the investment environment and enhancing its role in supporting the national economy.
