Launch event of the International Money Week

 

Under the auspices of His Excellency the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, and in the presence of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik, the Central Bank of Yemen inaugurated the Global Money Week event in the capital, Aden, in conjunction with more than 176 countries around the world, and with the active participation of banks and a number of Yemeni financial institutions. Under the slogan “Plan your money, plant your future”.

The General Investment Authority participated in the opening event, which included interventions by the participating banks, and the leadership of the interim capital, Aden, on the need for financial inclusion in Yemen, especially in rural areas, and the importance of promoting financial culture among young people, and stressed the importance of promoting financial inclusion to eradicate financial illiteracy in the country.

The events, which will last from March 20 to 26, 2023 AD, also include holding workshops on financial education, seminars and awareness campaigns aimed at educating the public about financial management and the importance of savings, budgeting and investment by organizing a series of events and field visits to universities, schools and neighborhoods aimed at raising the financial awareness of society. . In addition, the Central Bank will organize an evening at the end of the week in which commercial banks will present the various financial services available in Yemen.

The event was held in the Coral Hall on Monday, March 20, 2023, in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Muhammad Al-Ashwal, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers – Motea Dammaj, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, and a number of agents of Aden Governorate, ministries, and directors of banks and banking sectors in Aden.
